RC stair design
TCVN 5574:2018U-stair design with inclined-beam model, flexure/shear checks per TCVN 5574:2018.
About the RC stair design tool
Preliminary design of a U-shaped RC staircase (two inclined flights + intermediate landing) for residential buildings using the inclined-beam model.
What you enter
Step geometry (rise/go), slab thickness, flight width, materials and the stair's service load.
What the results mean
Internal forces per flight and landing, flexure (§8.1.2) and shear (§8.1.3) checks per TCVN 5574:2018, plus proposed main bars and stirrups.
When to use this tool
Sizing stair reinforcement early from the architectural layout; comparing inclined-flight moments with the classic simply-supported simplification.
TCVN 5574:2018 has no dedicated clause for stairs — the geometric model follows common textbook practice; results are preliminary.
Method
Preliminary design tool for U-shaped RC stairs (two inclined flights + mid landing) in residential buildings.
Enter step geometry (riser/tread), slab thickness, materials and loads; the tool converts loads to the horizontal projection using the inclined-beam model, computes moment/shear per flight and the landing, then checks flexure (TCVN 5574:2018 §8.1.2) and shear (§8.1.3) with suggested main bars and stirrups. Note: TCVN 5574:2018 has no stair-specific clause — the geometric part follows the conventional textbook method.
